about

Back in July I flew out to some old stomping grounds of the west coast of Canada to start a disc with my good friend Ryan McAlister from 5acres Studios. Ryan and I go way back, my older brother even played in a band with him back in the day.

Being down there brought back a lot of great memories from the Doubting Paris years. It was great to hook up with a bunch of old band mates like Sam Heard, Jason Davies, Zaac Pick, and Scott Howel. I really wanted to create a disc that had the feel of a band, the only issue with that was, I didn’t have a band. Since leaving Doubting Paris, I have been in supportive roles and haven’t been pursuing my own projects for years.

I have never stopped writing, however only chose 5 songs for now to record. Ryan and I sat down and decided to record the skeleton of the tunes and invite some musical friends to come out and track how they interpret the songs as a posed to how I would approach them. I tried my best to keep out of the process and wait to the end to make critiques. This has got to be one of the most fun projects I’ve done in a while and I hope you enjoy it.
